After 37 years in private practice, Dr. Stanley Dorfman has decided to retire.

Dr. Dorfman was a founding partner of Associated Obstetrics and Gynecology, and has also served as Chief of Staff of St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. He’ll continue in a part-time role with St. Joseph’s as the Physician Advisor Clinical Experience (PACE), working on improving patient safety by advocating communication between patient care teams.

Those who know Dr. Dorfman, know him to be a warm and compassionate physician, ever mindful of his patients’ comfort, safety and well-being. He never hesitated to go out of his way to take care of his patients.

Dr. Dorfman started in practice in 1981. During his career, he delivered more than 4,000 babies and has been a personal and professional mentor to each and every one of his partners.

He served for 12 years on the St. Joseph Mercy Oakland medical executive committee. He was a Member-at-Large from 1995-1996, Secretary/Treasurer from 1997-2004 and Chief of Staff from 2005-2006. He is admired by many for his achievements and his model work ethic.

We wish Dr. Dorfman well in his retirement and will always consider him part of the Associated Obstetrics and Gynecology family.
