About Dr. Helmick
Dr. Helmick has been practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2009 in private practice. Upon completion of her medical residency from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, she joined the practice of Associated Obstetrics and Gynecology, PC with offices in both Bloomfield Hills and Clarkston. Dr. Helmick grew up in the metro Detroit area, where she has only been away from during her undergraduate years at Albion College and her medical school years at MSU. She currently serves on the Advisory Board for Obstetrics and Gynecology at St Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, where she has held many other volunteer positions in the past as well. She also is an active gynecologic surgeon at the same hospital with performing both routine gynecologic procedures along with a special interest in female pelvic floor and urinary disorders. Dr. Helmick greatly enjoys providing minimally invasive surgical options, especially through robotic surgery, to allow her patients to undergo quality of life-improving surgeries with rapid recovery. Balancing the surgery side with our practice’s busy obstetrical volume and the excitement that comes with being a part of bringing life in to this world is yet another joy this field of medicine provides.
Dr. Helmick greatly enjoys educating her patients on healthy lifestyle habits, medical issues a patient may be experiencing and providing the support a patient may need to get through any issues they may be dealing with relating to her specialty.
When not performing her medical duties, Dr. Helmick is a wife and an active mother of 3. You can usually find her cheering on one of her children from the stands at a swimming pool nearby or a local soccer field. She and her family love spending time up north with family and friends, and really any opportunity to get outside together.
